/ Mohammed and Ibrahim

I met Ibrahim, a Nigerian man, on the outskirts of Alicante, Spain. He was carrying a large plastic bag full of old clothes over his shoulder. He took me to an abandoned warehouse where he and his friend Mohammed, from Morocco, had made their home. Both men were living in Spain without legal status. They made a living by collecting discarded items from dumpsters and reselling them. Ibrahim dreamed of owning a house in Switzerland, while Mohammed hoped to marry a kind-hearted Spanish woman.
