/ Tsunami
On Boxing Day in 2004, the southern Thai tourist destination of Khao Lak was devastated by a colossal 11-meter-high tsunami, which claimed the lives of over 4,000 people in the area. Amid the surreal aftermath of the tragedy, I captured an image of a Thai Navy boat that had been swept almost 1.5 kilometers inland from Khao Lak Beach. The vessel had been on patrol, serving as a guard for a grandson of the King, but tragically, he also drowned.
